Riffshot ~ Sound Byte ~ Synchronicity

Abstract Jazz art

“I know that how I speak to myself actually causes things to change in my physiology and in my world.” Deepak Chopra

I have been paying particular attention to my self talk since my first post in October, 2013.  My morning meditations bring me to a cosmic consciousness and synchronicity happens where chance encounters and hidden clues come into my awareness. As a breast cancer survivor who wants to make the most of my survivorship, I now understand the power of inner dialogue and intentions. Everything in my life is a convergence of relationships. Female/male, yin/yang energies become balanced. I become awakened to my feminine energy where compassion, acceptance and love balance out the male energies of strength. Paternal and assertive energies that seem to be prevailing right now.  Femininity is not Feminist to me because the 1960’s was the beginning of the Decade of Equality.  Feminists seized this opportunity to women rights in terms of employment and chauvinism.  It was associated to the Caucasian middle class housewives not so much to women of color because they faced a triple threat.  I believe that it opened the door for the Working mom’s.  I remember in my 6th grade teacher asking us if our mothers worked and questioned the critical  aspect of abandoning us.  My mom chose to work as a teacher and the times I spent with her were nurturing, loving and perhaps a better quality of life because it was balanced and my brother and I understood that it didn’t change her at all.

In Yoga, I learned that I am not my body nor my mind or roles that I play on a daily basis. But I am the inner witness who senses freedom that cleaves the negative and toxic energy that is generated from within and outside my body. Living in cosmic consciousness enables the universe to flow through me and the choreography of life becomes natural and joyous. In Joy and Light…JBC 8-)

I’d like to hear more of your thoughts on black feminism. If it’s something you’ve been over before, perhaps you can direct me to that post? Arriving late for the party makes it difficult to know where things have gone before. Thanks.

Indeed! I have realized that when I remain still and let silence wash over me, the inner witness brings a deeper understanding and connection to my soul. Thanks for the comment, Peace Out! JBC

I love how you’ve expressed yourself here. I don’t do yoga or any of the state of consciousness stuff but respect others get a lot out of it. I DO know I sometimes have conversations with myself I call Happy Talk to get me through something, to keep me focused, to encourage myself when I find the going hard etc. :-)
